Reston Triathlon

Olympic Duathlon / 1st place Overall / Virginia-USA

I decided to do this event at the last minute as I was training for my first Full IRONMAN (3.8 KM swim/180 KM Bike/42.2 KM run. Maryland was the plan as it is close. Long story short: That day was raining and it was cold and my coach had told that after the event I had to complete the training for that day which was 5 hours total. This event was an Olympic triathlon that was adjusted to a Duathlon (5K Run/10 K Bike/5K Run).

I took the 1st 5K as a warm up, I was conservative on the bike as it was raining hard and I could not see very well. For the 10 K run I felt that I was “Flying”, it was not a flat course and I did my best time in a 10K for an Olympic distance. I had the best time overall of all competitors, Males and Females and I was able to break the route record and the best part was that I enjoyed the beautiful view and the other competitors mutually cheering you on.
